Broadway to SVU Pipeline Reverses: Ice-T to Appear in Every Broadway Production

NEW YORK, NY - Fans of Law & Order: SVU see Broadway actors featured in the series regularly. The path from Broadway to SVU will soon reverse as the captivating actor behind Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola - Ice-T - makes his Broadway debut, in an exclusive deal brokered between Wolf Productions and Actor’s Equity Association that will have him appear in every Broadway production.

“Ice-T makes every scene better,” series executive producer Dick Wolf commented while flipping through 300 pages of fine print in Ice-T’s contract. “And every single Broadway show - in this season and in perpetuity - will benefit from Ice-T’s detective insights, classic zingers, and star quality.”

Appearances include the Doctor Dillamond in Wicked; the sorting hat in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; and The Bullet in Hamilton. Ice-T will also originate several new roles.

“I’m gonna be the voice of reason for characters who need a wake-up call,” Ice-T explained while being fitted for a custom LaDuca sneaker. “Simba shouldn’t trust a dude named Scar. Nora should leave that Torvald bozo ASAP. And that scumbag Biff? Yeah, I’ll go back in time and kick his ass.”

Ice-T plans to appear at the end of some productions as his iconic SVU character to arrest characters who’ve committed crimes, including Sweeney Todd, The Phantom of the Opera, and of course Bad Cinderella.

His SVU co-star Mariska Hargitay, who plays Captain Olivia Benson, discussed her conflicted feelings over the news.

“On one hand, I’m happy for Ice. He deserves his moment to shine under Broadway lights,” Hargitay said while simultaneously directing and acting in a gripping kidnapping scene. “But, he can’t possibly perform in every single Broadway show and still have time for both his family and his SVU family.”

“Hold up. Broadway actors perform eight times a week?” Ice-T commented as he skimmed his contract. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Does it say here that I have to perform in perpetuity? Damn, I gotta stop saying yes to things.”

At press time, Wolf Productions and Actor’s Equity Association revised Ice-T's contract, so that his Broadway appearances will work around his SVU schedule, provided that his wife, Coco will star alongside him. The couple plans to kick off their Broadway run as Billy Flynn and Roxie Hart in Chicago.
