The Heartwarming Story of George Santos Giving Lin-Manuel Miranda Ron Chernow’s Hamilton Biography

by Conor Moroney. @conorseamusactor.

WASHINGTON D.C. - It has been reported that the theatre world has one unsung hero to thank for Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical phenomenon Hamilton: New York Congressional Representative George Santos (R-03).

"I spotted Mr. Miranda at a park bench looking glum," Representative Santos said as he polished his AR-15 lapel pin in the halls of the Capitol. “I asked him ‘kid, what’s wrong?' and he said ‘I can’t figure out an idea for my next musical.’ So I reached into my satchel and found my copy of Ron Chernow’s Alexander Hamilton, handed it to him and said ‘Here you go! You can never go wrong with the Founding Fathers!’ Mr. Miranda graciously thanked me and I overheard him already humming the first song. It’s small things like this that make me glad I got into public service.”

This isn't the first act of generosity Representative Santos has given to the theatre world. In 2022, he gave the staff of The Broadway Beat exclusive access to The Weezer Broadway Residency.
