BREAKING: "Mean Girls" Closes to Make Room for Second, Simultaneous Hugh Jackman "Music Man"

by Zach Raffio. @zachraffio.

NEW YORK, NY - The Tony-nominated Broadway musical Mean Girls announced tonight that it would not be reopening once Broadway returns following the COVID-19 pandemic, as the show will be shuttered to make room for a second, simultaneous production of Hugh Jackman in The Music Man in addition to the one set to run at the Winter Garden Theatre, sources have confirmed.

"He's just... won't stop. He's never going to stop," noted August Wilson theatre usher Katy DeLarn, nervously watching Hugh take down the show's marquee himself. "We've opened Pandora's Box. He won't stop until every show is The Music Man. I don't know how he'll do it. Will every show start at different times? Will the ensembles be the same? What happens on two-show days? I asked him all of these questions and it only seemed to make his smile grow wider. WHAT DOES HE HAVE PLANNED?"

More to come as this story develops.
