Sad: Furloughed Employees Forced to Come Back and Work on Holiday

by Zach Raffio. @zachraffio.

NEW YORK, NY - In a sad turn of events, a number of furloughed employees from the Broadway community, who have been out of work since the pandemic began this past March, were forced back into action on Thanksgiving, a day they would normally have off, disappointed sources confirmed.

"This is how they get you. Eight months of nothing and suddenly we're thrown back into the trenches, forced to clock in, throw on our work clothes - which in this case are fun, breathable character pants - and get our hands dirty," stated a performer who we couldn't really identify behind the tears. "Would I have preferred to be at home with my family? Of course. Is it national TV exposure? Yes. Is it well paid? Sure is. But at what cost?"

More to come as this story develops.
